Foreign Minister met with Director-General of the United Nations at Geneva

On February 26, on the margins of the 43rd session of UN Human Rights Council, Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Tatiana Valovaya, Director-General of the United Nations at Geneva. 

The Foreign Minister expressed his support to the efforts undertaken by the UN Office in Geneva within the framework of international cooperation and to jointly address the challenges.

Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Tatiana Valovaya commended the dynamics of cooperation established between Armenia and different agencies of the UN office at Geneva and the contribution of Armenia to the efforts of the international community  in different spheres. 

Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan underlined that as a member of the UN Human Rights Council Armenia will pursue the promotion of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, as well as the strengthening and spread of democratic values. Foreign Minister of Armenia stressed the advancement of Genocide prevention agenda as priority.

The interlocutors discussed in detail the steps towards the implementation of goals in the framework of  Sustainable Development Agenda 2030.

At the request of the Director-General of the United Nations at Geneva, Minister Mnatsakanyan presented the challenges and priorities of Armenian foreign policy.
