24.06.2019 • Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan’s meeting with Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross

  On June 24, within the framework of his working visit to Geneva, Minister  Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with Peter Maurer, President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). During the meeting, the issues of cooperation agenda between Armenia and the International Committee of the Red Cross were touched upon. The sides valued the sectoral cooperation with various agencies of Armenia, including regarding the awareness raising on international humanitarian law and reforms being held in judiciary system. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan underlined that Armenia highly appreciates ICRC's humanitarian mission in Armenia and Artsakh, as well as its activities in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone and expressed readiness to ensure the consistent cooperation with the Organization.   On June 24, solemn opening ceremony of the exhibition dedicated to the democratic transition in Armenia in April-May 2018 was held in the United Nations Office at Geneva, organized by the Permanent Representation of Armenia in UN Geneva office.  Minister Mnatsakanyan delivered opening remarks and particularly noted: “This exhibition expresses the spirit of two months of Revolution, where people were truly taking their destiny in their hands, becoming a participant of an important process, where they were owners of the revolution.
