HRC 57th Session Item 6: Adoption of UPR Outcomes of Vanuatu

President,

Armenia thanks Vanuatu for its constrictive engagement throughout the UPR process.

We welcome Vanuatu for accepting the majority of recommendations which demonstrate its continued commitment to advancing human rights and sustainable development for all its people. However, we regret that one of our recommendations was noted and would like to reiterate to consider ratifying the Genocide Convention.

Armenia also recognizes Vanuatu’s initiatives and leadership in the international arena in advocating and addressing climate change – a critical issue with profound human rights implications for the island nations and beyond.

Armenia supports the adoption of the Working Group’s outcomes Report on Vanuatu and wishes Vanuatu success in implementation of the accepted recommendations.
