President,

My delegation would like to thank the panelists for their insightful presentations.

Armenia recognizes the family as the cornerstone of our society, and our commitment to upholding the human rights of every family member remains a central tenet of our government’s agenda.

In recent years, we have made considerable efforts in fortifying our legal and policy frameworks to address domestic violence. Amendments to our Criminal Code have instituted stricter penalties for offenders and have classified domestic violence as an aggravating factor in various crimes. We are implementing comprehensive training initiatives for law enforcement, judicial, health, and social service professionals to ensure effective handling of domestic violence cases. Additionally, our public awareness campaigns aim to reshape perceptions of traditional family values, emphasizing mutual respect and dignity.

While challenges remain, Armenia's holistic approach demonstrates our unwavering commitment to ensuring that the family remains a safe haven where the human rights of all its members are respected and protected. We remain steadfast in our efforts to build a society of equality, dignity and non-violence.

In conclusion, Armenia stands resolute in its efforts to uphold and promote the rights of all families, including refugees.

Thank you.
