Meeting of the Foreign Minister of Armenia and Director General of WIPO

On February 27, in Geneva, Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Daren Tang, Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization.

The interlocutors discussed the prospects of expanding cooperation between Armenia and WIPO, expressing willingness to continue efforts towards closer partnership, including through the implementation of concrete projects. Both parties emphasized the great potential of cooperation in spheres of high technologies, innovation, economy, education, and in the promotion of business ties, increasing engagement of women and youth, and the willingness to use it to the maximum extent. In this context, Ararat Mirzoyan emphasized the accession of Armenia to the WIPO treaty base and the already established successful experience of cooperation.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and the Director General of the WIPO discussed the possible mutual visits and opportunities provided by the cooperation with the WIPO Academy. Views were also exchanged on the process and steps undertaken towards creating the National Intellectual Property Training Center.
