“Armenia: An Introduction” cultural event was organized at the UN Office in Geneva

The Permanent Mission of Armenia to the UN Office at Geneva hosted traditional “Coffee Morning” event of the UN Women’s Guild (UNWG). The event took place at the Palais de Nations and was entitled “Armenia: An Introduction”. The Permanent Representative of Armenia to the UN Office in Geneva (UNOG) H.E. Mr. Andranik Hovhannisyan opened the event and welcomed the members of the UNWG. Mrs. Marina Hovhannisyan, the wife of the Permanent Representative of Armenia to UNOG offered an introduction to Armenia, its ancient history, culture and art. Ms. Valentina Calzolari Bouvier, professor at the University of Geneva, presented power points and slide show on the key events and data of the history of Armenia, as well as its civilizational characteristics, masterpieces of architecture and manuscripts. The Armenian music and magical tunes of Duduk enriched the atmosphere. The meeting concluded with sampling Armenian food and wine.
