Concert of “Little singers” choir in Geneva

On May 13, the concert of “Little singers” of Armenia was held in the famous Victoria concert hall of Geneva.

The tour in Switzerland including a number of concerts of this talented choir lead by Tigran Hekekyan, was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia, and the concert in Geneva was organised in support of the Syrian refugees of Armenian origin.

Mrs Hasmik Tolmajyan, the Envoy of Armenia,mentioned in the opening remarks that “Little singers of Armenia - being part of one of the best youth choirs in the world, uphold the colours of the Armenian flag on leading international stages, and are considered to be unique cultural ambassadors of Armenia. Being of the same age as Armenia itself, the choir shares the strive of our people for renaissance, its dream of living in the peaceful and harmonic world.”

The repertoire of the choir in Geneva was composed of the sacred music by Komitas, Mashtots, Shnorhali, pieces from the Armenian national folklore, as well as of the works by Brahms, Rachmaninov, Verdi, Debussy, and Rogers, which were warmly welcomed by the Swiss audience.

During their tour in Switzerland, the little singers will perform in Onex, Fribourg, Lausanne, Locarno, Vevey, Martigny, Winterthur, and other cities.
