Karabakh President meets with heads of Armenian organizations in Geneva

 President of Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Bako Sahakyan visited Armenian Embassy in the Swiss Confederation and handed in state awards to some members of the Swiss Armenian community. Philanthropist Vardan Sermakes and public activist Arden Shelefyan were awarded.

On the same day Bako Sahakyan visited the Geneva Armenian center where he met leaders of some Armenian organizations of Switzerland and representatives of the country’s Armenian community.

 

During the meeting President Sahakyan spoke about social and economic situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, foreign policy and the current stage and prospects of the Azerbaijani-Karabakh conflict settlement.

Bako Sahakyan also touched upon the necessity of deepening ties between the Motherland and Diaspora, underlining that the Armenia-Artsakh-Diaspora trinity is among the key bases of the Karabagh statehood.

President marked the importance of developing relations with the Swiss Armenian community.

Primate of the Artsakh Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan, head of the central information department of the president’s office David Babayan and other officials were present at the meeting.
